Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. plain flour
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. butter
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. black walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Mix together dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture alternating with the milk.
Add flavoring and nuts. Batter will be very stiff.
Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Don't peek while cooking.
