Bakery Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. powdered sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (not butter)
    2 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 to 2 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 to 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream half of the sugar with shortening.
    Add stiffly beaten egg whites and remaining sugar.
    Add vanilla and lemon to taste. Beat well.
