Yorkshire Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    6 eggs
    2 c. flour (all-purpose), sifted
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. brandy, orange juice or grape juice
    1 lb. seedless raisins
    3/4 lb. candied fruit
    1/2 lb. chopped dates
    1 lb. chopped pecan nutmeats
    1 doz. red and green candied cherries
Preparation
    Beat the butter until soft.
    Add the sugar which has been sifted.
    Beat until well blended.
    Beat in the 6 egg yolks.
    Mix 1 3/4 cup of the flour, spices and salt and add alternately with the liquid.
