Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. molasses
1 c. milk (sweet or sour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. or more raisins (optional)
Preparation

Mix ingredients together until well blended.
Pour batter into greased brown bread pan.
Place brown bread pan on rack in large pan of boiling water.
Water should reach 1/4 to 1/2 way up the brown bread pan.
Cover and steam for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove from pan and cool on cake rack.
