Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can Comstock red ruby cherries
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix in a bowl, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
    Using a knife, cut in the butter.
    Add beaten egg.
    Mixture must be crumbly.
    Put 1/2 into 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Put cherries on top. Sprinkle other half on top.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
