Old Fashion Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 stick margarine
    1 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    3 medium yams
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Peel and cut yams in quarters.
    Sprinkle sugar, nutmeg and butter.
    Cover and simmer over medium heat until liquid thickens. Top with marshmallows and allow to melt.
    Serve hot.
