Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening or butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon extract or grated lemon rind
Preparation
    Have shortening or butter at room temperature. Line a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with paper and grease. Sift flour once before measuring. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Put shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon extract or rind in large bowl. Beat 2 1/2 minutes on high speed and add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk. Scrape bowl while beating. Beat only enough to blend well (about 2 1/2 minutes). Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Turn out of pan and remove paper.
