Adele'S New Orleans Style Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic
4 green onions
1 lb. raw, cleaned and deveined shrimp
Tabasco sauce and salt to taste
3 or 4 crabs, broken and cleaned
raw oysters (optional)
1 lb. chopped okra
about 6 c. hot water
bay leaf, crushed
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Brown flour in oil to a very brown roux.
Lower heat and add onion, garlic and green onions. Simmer until onions are cooked. Add shrimp, crabs and oysters. Simmer until shrimp are pink and (if used) oysters curl.
Add okra, water, bay leaf, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce and cook until done.
Serve in bowl over boiled rice.
