Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. peeled tomatoes, cut in pieces (about 12)
    1 green pepper
    1 onion
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. mild vinegar
Preparation
    Put the tomatoes in a saucepan and cook slowly about 1 hour. Put the pepper and onion through a chopper and add to the tomatoes. Cook another 20 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients. Boil until thick (about 20 minutes).
    Makes 3 pints.
