Upside-Down Date Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cut up dates
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine dates and boiling water.
    Let stand until cool.
    Cream sugars, egg and melted butter until light.
    Spoon flour and all dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Stir in nuts and dates.
    Pour into well-greased 9-inch pan.
    Combine 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 1/2 cups boiling water. Pour carefully over batter.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
