Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. caramels (45 pieces)
    1 c. evaporated milk, divided
    1 Swiss chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. In medium saucepan, melt caramels in 1/2 cup evaporated milk over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and remaining 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Beat on low speed to blend. Press half of batter into bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly (about 15 minutes). Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over surface. Pour caramel mixture over chocolate chips and sprinkle nuts over caramel. Return to oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool and then refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
