Mud Hens - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs, separate 2
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add 3 egg yolks and 1 white and beat until smooth.
    Add vanilla.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and beat in butter mixture until blended.
    Pour into 9 x 14-inch pan which has been lightly greased and floured.
    Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
    Beat last 2 egg whites and gradually add brown sugar.
    When stiff, spread over batter.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cut into squares while hot.
