Nannan'S Easy Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1/3 c. onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. buttermilk biscuit mix
1 1/2 c. water
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. cooked rice
dash of pepper
1/4 tsp. sugar
1 bay leaf
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
2 lb. frozen shrimp, thawed, peeled and cleaned or 3 (5 oz.) cans shrimp
Preparation
-
In skillet, melt butter.
Add onion and cook slightly.
Add biscuit mix and stir until well blended.
Combine remaining ingredients except shrimp and rice.
Add with onion mixture to crock-pot.
Stir well.
Cover and cook on low for 4.9 hours.
One hour before serving, turn on high setting and add shrimp.
Remove bay leaf and serve over hot fluffy rice.
Provides 6 servings, about 1 1/2 quarts.
