Summer Garden Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 bell peppers, sliced
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 c. olive oil
    12 tomatoes, chopped or 3 cans crushed tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    4 leaves fresh basil
Preparation
    In medium size saucepan, simmer oil and onion until golden. Add tomatoes, peppers, salt, pepper and basil.
    Stir well.
    Cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
    Add 2 tablespoons water if sauce is too thick.
    Pour over your favorite cooked pasta.
    (Thin pasta is best.)
    Serves 4 to 6 people.
