Sopaipillas(Fry Cakes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. warm water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. scalded and then cooled milk
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
    Cut in shortening.
    Make a well in center of mixture.
    Add yeast mixture and milk, mix well.
    (Dough will be sticky).
    Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.
    Knead 15 to 20 times.
