Ingredients

16 oz. can sliced beets (unsalted)
16 oz. can crushed pineapple (unsweetened), drained
1 tsp. ground cloves (more, if desired)
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
juice from pineapple
Preparation

Heat beets in juice and add cloves and pineapple; let simmer. Stir cornstarch in the reserved juice and add to the simmering beets.
Cook until thickens.
Add sugar, if desired.
Makes about 6 servings.
