Hot Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. head cabbage
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. butter
    1 pt. sour cream
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. vinegar (or to taste)
Preparation
Grate cabbage and cook with 1 teaspoon salt and enough water to cover it.
    Cook until tender and drain.
Combine sour cream, eggs, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
    Beat enough to mix.
Pour drained cabbage back into large pan it was cooked in and melt butter with cabbage in pan.
Pour sour cream mixture along with 2 tablespoons vinegar over cabbage.
Simmer, but do not boil, for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Serve hot.
Tastes even better the next day, reheated slowly.
Be careful not to boil, as it scorches easily.
