Pickled Sausage Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 3/4 c. white vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    1 tsp. salt
    8 whole allspice
    1 1/2 lb. (about 5) fully cooked garlic sausage
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Preparation
    In saucepan, bring water, vinegar, sugar, pickling spices, salt and allspice to boil; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
    Set aside.
