Hungarian Goulash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
    3 lb. onions, sliced
    2 fine chopped cloves garlic
    2 fine chopped, peeled tomatoes
    2 lb. cooked wide noodles
    4 Tbsp. paprika
    1 bay leaf
    2 qt. white stock (consomme or water)
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook onions in heavy skillet in oil until yellow. Add beef cubes and brown well.
    Mix in salt, pepper, paprika, bay leaf, garlic, stock and tomatoes.
    Cover and simmer on low until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Serve over hot cooked noodles.
    Serves 8.
