Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 small chopped onions
2 1/2 c. corn meal
1 tsp. soda
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. Creole seasoning
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. lemon pepper

Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients. Add chopped onion, then milk and egg, beaten together. Drop mixture by small spoonfuls into boiling shortening (400\u00b0). When done, the hush puppies will float. Drain them on paper towels.
