Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. fryer chicken, cut up
    1/4 c. oil
    1 green pepper, cut into strips
    2 medium onions, quartered
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. crushed oregano
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 small can mushrooms
    3 c. hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Mix flour and 1 teaspoon salt, coat chicken pieces with mixture.
    Brown chicken on both sides in hot oil, put chicken in roaster and add green pepper and onion.
    Mix tomato sauce, water, seasonings and mushrooms (with liquid).
    Pour over chicken. Cover.
    Place in oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 375\u00b0 or until chicken is done.
    Serve over cooked rice.
    Serves 4.
