Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    3/4 c. corn syrup
    3 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine water, syrup, sugar and salt to cook to 234\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add half of the syrup, 1 teaspoon at a time, to well beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
    Continue cooking other half of syrup until it reaches 270\u00b0.
    Pour into egg mixture; beat until high gloss changes to dull.
    Fold in vanilla.
    Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper.
    Makes 48.
