Venison Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    1 c. mushrooms
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    1 can tomato sauce (if desired thicken)
    2 c. water
    salt and pepper
    2 stalks celery
    1 large jar or can tomatoes
    6 venison steaks, fat trimmed and battered
Preparation
    Brown battered steaks in oil.
    Remove and saute onion and celery.
    Replace venison.
    Add tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, salt and pepper.
    Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until venison is tender.
    Hint:
    Serve sauce over noodles or rice.
