Sweet Basil Carrots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium carrots, peeled
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
    1 to 2 tsp. fresh basil
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cut carrots into 1/8-inch slices or run through slicer of food processor.
    Place them in vegetable steamer, covered, over boiling water for 10 minutes until tender, but not mushy. Remove from heat and set aside. Carrots may be steamed well in advance and combined with other ingredients immediately before serving.
    In a large, heavy saucepan, melt butter.
    Add maple syrup, carrots, basil and salt.
    Stir well to coat carrots thoroughly with butter sauce. Serves 4 to 6.
