Sherry Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sherry
1/4 c. water
2 eggs
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Add shortening and mix.
Pour in half of the sherry and water. Beat well.
Add remaining sherry and eggs. Beat well. Bake in a 13 x 9-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Let cool.
Lightly sift powdered sugar over cake. Serves 12.
