One Day Sweet Pickle Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. cucumbers, thinly sliced
    1 c. onion, diced
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed or celery salt
    1 tsp. whole allspice
Preparation
    Do not peel.
    Do not cook.
    Combine cucumbers and onion. Sprinkle with salt and let stand 2 hours.
    Drain off.
    Mix together vinegar, sugar and celery seed.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Add whole allspice.
    Do not heat.
    Pour over cucumbers and let stand 1 day.
    Ready to eat or can.
    Keep in refrigerator up to 1 year.
