Speckled Banana Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
4 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. soda
3 mashed bananas
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (1 c. better)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
