Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 qt. or more sliced cucumbers
1/3 c. salt
5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
3 c. vinegar
Preparation

Slice cukes thin.
Add salt; cover with crushed ice.
Let set 15 minutes or until ice melts.
Combine remaining ingredients. Drain cucumbers.
Put cukes into mixture and bring to boil.
Seal in hot sterilized jars.
Makes 6 to 8 pints.
