Swiss Christmas Trees - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. strained honey
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. fruit juice
    grated rind of 1 orange
    granted rind of 1 lemon
    2 c. unblanched almonds, chopped
    10 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
    4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Melt honey and shortening together over hot water.
    Add sugar and fruit juice and stir until dissolved.
    Add grated rinds of orange and lemon, chopped almonds and the dry ingredients (which have been sifted together).
    Chill in refrigerator.
