Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 oz. red food color
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Make paste of cocoa and food coloring.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Combine sifted flour with salt.
    Add alternately with butter and milk.
    Add vanilla to creamed mixture.
    Add cocoa paste.
    Fold in vinegar and soda.
    Pour batter in equal parts into 3 cake pans, greased, then with wax paper.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
