Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beans (California pea beans or New York State beans preferred)
    1/2 lb. sauteed bacon or 1/2 lb. salt pork
    8 Tbsp. sugar
    2/3 c. molasses
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 medium size onion
    1 1/2 qt. water
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight. In the morning, parboil them for 10 minutes with a teaspoon of baking soda.
    Then run cold water through the beans in a colander.
