Baptist Pot Roast - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
3 to 4 lb. sirloin tip or rump roast
8 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
8 carrots, scraped and cut in halves
1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
salt and pepper to taste
dash of Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
-
Quickly brown roast in a skillet.
Place roast in a large roaster pan with potatoes and carrots.
Cover meat with soup
mix. Season meat, potatoes and carrots with salt, pepper and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Cover with 1 1/2 cups of water.
Cover pan tightly and bake at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 3 hours.
Roast should be cooked about 1/2 hour for each pound, but the dinner won't be ruined if the pastor's sermon gets a little long.
So forget about your dinner and concentrate on what he says.
