Old-Fashioned Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut in 8ths with skin removed
    4 carrots
    1 onion
    1 parsnip
    1 parsley root
    3 stalks celery
Preparation
    Remove liver.
    Place clean, cut up vegetables in pot, except for onion, which is put in whole.
    Place chicken in pot.
    Cook 1 1/2 hours.
