Hamburger Dills - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 sprigs dill
    2 garlic cloves
    2 sliced onions
    25 to 30 medium to large cucumbers
    1 pt. water
    1 qt. 5% vinegar
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. pickling salt
Preparation
    Wash and slice cucumbers 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
    Soak for 1 hour in ice water.
    Add ice cubes or crushed ice.
    Mix water, vinegar, sugar and salt; bring to boil.
    Pack cucumbers into clean, hot jars with 3 sprigs of dill, 2 garlic cloves and onion.
    Pour boiling hot pickling syrup over cucumbers, leaving 1/2 inch headspace.
    Wipe off jar mouth and seal.
    Process in boiling water bath canner for 15 minutes.
    (Count processing time as soon as hot jars are placed into actively boiling water.)
