Leslie'S Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. butter
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 tsp. allspice
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. jam
    1 c. applesauce
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Sift flour with salt and spices.
    Mix soda with buttermilk.
    Add sifted ingredients alternately with buttermilk and rest of ingredients except the eggs.
    Beat well and add the eggs last.
    Makes 3 (8-inch) layers.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
