Rice Sausage Chicken Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground sausage
1 green pepper, cut fine
1 onion, diced
7 stalks celery, cut up
1 c. uncooked rice (not instant)
2 pkg. Lipton chicken noodle soup
4 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. water chestnuts
Preparation

Brown sausage with pepper, onion and celery.
Brown until clear, not brown.
Add rice.
Cook very slowly one hour (simmer). Stir often.
I usually stand over stove.
Then cook soup in water. Cook for 10 minutes and gradually add this to meat and rice mixture.
Continue to stir.
Add water chestnuts.
Put in casserole and bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
If casserole appears dry, I add some clear chicken broth from a can or some I might have from baking a chicken.
