Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg, beaten until fluffy
    2 1/4 c. plain flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Mix together first 4 ingredients.
    Sift remaining ingredients together.
    Add to first mixture and form into small balls.
    Roll in granulated sugar; place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
    Makes 5 dozen.
