Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef steak
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 c. chopped tomatoes
    1/3 c. all-purpose flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
Preparation
    Rub salt, allspice and pepper well into steak.
    Coat steak with flour.
    Heat shortening in pan.
    Brown meat quickly in hot pan on both sides.
    Add onion and tomatoes.
    Cover and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
    You may need to add a little hot water or tomato to prevent sticking.
