Company Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 large onion, minced
    3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 3/4 c. uncooked rice
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans consomme
    1 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Melt butter in skillet; add onions and saute until tender but not browned.
    Combine onion, cheese, rice, mushrooms, consomme and almonds in 4 to 5-quart casserole.
    Mix well.
    Cover and bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Remove cover and bake 15 minutes longer.
    Makes 10 to 12 servings.
