Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 onion, chopped
    2 to 3 stalks celery, diced
    1 carrot, grated
    5 to 6 potatoes, diced
    6 to 8 c. water
    2 to 3 Tbsp. chicken bouillon
    peppercorns
    1 bay leaf
    2 c. milk, cream or half and half or combination
Preparation
    Saute onion and celery in butter.
    Bring potatoes and water to boil.
    Add onion, celery, carrot, bouillon and a steeper with peppercorns and a bay leaf in it.
    Simmer until potatoes are done. Remove steeper.
    Add milk.
    Serve hot.
