Date Nut Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1 (7 1/2 oz.) pkg. dates
1 c. nuts
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla (or 2 Tbsp. rum)
Preparation

Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together. Beat eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar, beating while adding. Add nuts and dates which have been cut into small pieces. Add dry ingredients, melted butter and vanilla. Pour into a greased 7 1/4 x 10 1/2 x 2 pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
