Golden Baked Onion Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium onions, thinly sliced
    1 stick margarine
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 c. milk
    12 oz. shredded Swiss cheese
    salt and pepper
    French bread
    melted margarine
Preparation
    Saute onions in margarine until tender, about 20 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon.
    Put into 9 x 13-inch casserole dish; set aside.
    Mix together the soup, milk, salt and pepper.
    Pour over onions; top with Swiss cheese.
    Slice French bread; dip 1 side in melted margarine.
    Place slices of bread (butter side up) on onions-cheese, making sure to cover completely with the bread slices.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes, until bubbling and golden brown.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
