Hot Spiced Wine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 lemon, sliced
    1 orange, sliced
    12 whole allspice
    12 whole cloves
    1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon
    1 (22.4 oz.) bottle Burgundy or other dry red wine
Preparation
    Combine water, sugar, lemon slices and orange slices in a Dutch oven; tie spices in a cheesecloth bag.
    Add to sugar mixture and bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
    Discard spice bag; serve hot.
    Yields 4 1/2 cups.
