Foolproof Whip Cream Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 Tbsp. flour (full tablespoons)
    3/4 c. milk
    3/4 c. vegetable shortening
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
Preparation
    Cook flour and milk, stirring until it makes a heavy white sauce.
    Remove from fire, cool.
    (May place in refrigerator until thickens.)
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Add white sauce and beat at high speed until it resembles whipped cream.
    Add vanilla and blend.
    Covers an 8-inch cake.
