Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water
2 eggs

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly; add beaten eggs.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with water.
Raisins may be added, if desired.
Place in greased and floured cake pans. Put in oven at 325\u00b0 and gradually increase the temperature to 350\u00b0 for a total of 45 minutes.
