Ingredients

1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 2/3 c. milk
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. Softasilk cake flour
1/3 c. butter
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix sugar, flour and salt in saucepan.
Gradually stir in water and milk.
Add butter.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Boil 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Stir half in egg yolks and blend into hot mixture in saucepan.
Boil 1 minute more, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Blend in vanilla.
