Never Fail Icebox Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sweet milk or 1 c. water and 1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 yeast cakes
6 c. sifted, light, plain flour
Preparation

Put milk in 2-quart saucepan; add sugar.
Add shortening. Scald milk (do not boil) with sugar and shortening added; remove from heat.
Add salt.
Let cool to room temperature.
Add yeast cakes and stir until dissolved.
Beat in flour gradually, then toss on floured breadboard; knead lightly.
Place back in pan and let rise until doubled, approximately 2 hours.
Take out of pan and knead again.
Roll dough and make into rolls.
Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
Spoon liquid shortening or melted butter on tops of rolls.
Cover and let rise in warm place approximately 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
Bake in preheated 425\u00b0 oven for 15 minutes.
