Sweet And Sour Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 qt. cabbage, shredded
    1/2 c. green peppers, chopped
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. carrots, shredded
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 c. cold water
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Combine cabbage, green peppers, celery, carrots and onion. Let stand in cold water and salt for 1 hour.
    Boil sugar, vinegar and 1/2 cup water.
    Drain vegetables.
    Pour cooled boiled mixture over cabbage and chill.
