    2 medium-size carrots
    1/2 lb. Chinese pea pods
    1 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 Tbsp. minced peeled ginger root or 1 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1 (13 3/4 to 14 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
