Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. popped corn
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon or strawberry extract
    food coloring
Preparation
    Discard all imperfect kernels and put the popped corn into a large pan.
    Cook sugar, salt, vanilla, syrup and water to the medium crack stage (280\u00b0), stirring constantly.*
    Add food coloring; stir again and pour over popcorn (careful, it's hot). While pouring over popcorn, mix and move popcorn around carefully to cover each kernel.
